ATTENDANCE

We expect the highest standards of attendance and punctuality.

All Saints Marsh C of E Academy recognises the importance of excellent attendance and punctuality so that pupils can maximise their achievement in school and can be well-prepared for the demands of the next stage of their education. Research evidence and national statistics link good attendance to the achievement of academic and personal development.

Attendance and punctuality also reflect pupil and parent commitment to achievement and to our school mission ‘To transform children’s lives’.

We encourage all pupils to work towards 100% attendance and set a minimum attendance target of 98% per year.  Excellent attendance is celebrated weekly, half termly, termly and end of year to individuals and classes.

We encourage regular attendance by:

  • providing a caring and welcoming learning environment and learning that is such fun that children will not want to miss it
  • responding promptly to a child’s or parent’s concerns about the academy or other pupils
  • marking registers accurately and punctually during morning and afternoon registration
  • publishing and displaying attendance statistics
  • celebrating good and improved attendance
  • monitoring pupils, informing parents/carers in writing of irregular attendance, arranging meetings with them if necessary

Failure to attend school

‘Failure to attend school regularly can have a major impact on young people’s education, their future and their life chances’.

All Saints Marsh Academy has a comprehensive Attendance and Absence in Term Time Policy. Absences are strongly discouraged. The policy is available on request at the Academy Office or you can download it from the Policies section.

Penalty notices may be used as a deterrent to prevent a pattern of unauthorised absences developing.

We encourage regular attendance by:

  • Providing a caring and welcoming learning environment and learning that is such fun that children will not want to miss it.
  • Responding promptly to a child’s or parent’s concerns about the academy or other children.
  • Marking registers accurately and punctually during morning and afternoon registration.

The Academy Day

We are currently operating a staggered drop off and collection from both the back door (for KS1) and the front gate (for KS2)

The Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children in Forde and Bradley classes will be in the EYFS / Key Stage 1 Bubble. The Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 children in Courtenay and Templar classes will be in the Key Stage 2 Bubble. Social Distancing is still an expectation and a something that we all need to be doing to keep one another safe, to support this, we will continue to use the separate entrances for each bubble.
Younger children in Forde and Bradley in the EYFS / Key Stage 1 Bubble will continue to use the back door to be able to walk straight into their classrooms.
Older children in Courtenay and Templar in the Key Stage 2 Bubble will use the front gate and again walk straight to their classrooms using the Courtenay door or the front door into school.
We will have a one way drop off system operating approaching from the car park end of the street and continuing past the school as your child goes to school.
To make sure we do not have a long queue of parents waiting we will stagger the start time to arrive between 8.30 and 8.45. If you don’t need to drop off at 8.30 for work purposes please come later in the time allocated to avoid congestion.

Forde class will finish at 2.45, Courtenay and Bradley at 3.00 and Templar at 3.15.

It is really important that you do not arrive before these times to avoid a queue building up and congestion to occur.
Please can we have ONLY 1 ADULT from each family to drop off and pick up please. Again this reduces the number of adults coming together in one place and in the area surrounding school.
