LOCAL ETHOS & GOVERNANCE COMMITTEES

The role of the Local Ethos & Governance Committee is to support, inform, advise and challenge provision; working together, empowering excellence and improving outcomes for all children. Working with the Senior Team and the Trust Board , Local Ethos & Governance Committees are a local voice and a link with local communities and churches (Church Schools) as well as being advocates for all Trust academies. Details about the composition of this Committee can be found on the Learning Academy Partnership website.

As ambassadors for the academies, Local Ethos & Governance Committees can play a crucial role in enriching community relationships and communication; contributing to the collective effectiveness of academies and the Board of Trustees. All Saints Marsh C of E Academy belongs to the Newton and Teign Hub.  The  Newton and Teign Hub committee members are shown below.

Mrs Forsyth

Mrs Forsyth

Local Governor (Chair and Curriculum Lead)

I have taught across the primary age range, mainly in large schools in London and Surrey. I have a particular interest in the provision for Special Educational Needs, Science and the Outdoor Learning Environment. I moved to Devon, with my family, in 2011 and feel privileged to live and work in such a beautiful and peaceful area of the country. I became a school governor, now Local Governance Committee member, as I wanted to support our schools in ensuring that the best possible provision and learning experiences continue to be available to all children.

Reverend Regan

Reverend Regan

Local Governor (Foundation - Vice Chair and Christian Distinctiveness Lead)

I am one of the team vicars in Newton Abbot, and I was licensed to Newton Abbot in June 2017. I have a passion to share Jesus’ love with all I meet. The main focus of my ministry is centred around the transformation of new housing areas alongside supporting Children and Youth to grow to be the people they were created to be. I really enjoy seeing what God is doing in our church school communities.

Mrs Neaves

Mrs Neaves

Local Governor (Parent Governor)

I have a child at All Saints Marsh C of E academy. I would like to pass on my skills and knowledge onto the Trust and gain a greater understanding about the challenges that face the Education sector. I will provide honest feedback to help guide decision making and provide a parents viewpoint to discussions.

Mrs Govier

Mrs Govier

Local Governor (Parent Governor and SEND Lead)

Having taught in Primary education for 10 years prior to having my own children I was keen to get involved in a useful and meaningful way with my children’s school. I think a parent voice is very important to provide perspective and help create a rounded picture of the whole school community. Parent support is so important to children’s development and happiness so if I can help to give an insight that will further strengthen the relationship between home and school then I will feel I am making a useful difference.

Local Governor (Executive Head)
Mrs Arnold

Mrs Arnold

Local Governor (Safeguarding Lead)

I was a co-opted Governor for nearly 10 years while my children were at Dunsford and felt that it was really important to help in any way possible with the vital part that the school plays in a child’s life. Now that my children are grown up, I feel that I can offer a different perspective on issues from that of a Parent as I come from an impartial standpoint. I feel passionate about the important role that the school plays in the lives of children and that of the community.
