All Saints Marsh pupils take part in a Rainbow Run to fundraise for Children’s Hospice South West
Pupils at All Saints Marsh C of E Academy, which is part of the Learning Academy Partnership, took part in the Rainbow Run School Challenge 2022 to fundraise in support of the Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
During their PE lessons Mr Kirk, a teacher from The Spires College, led a fun filled warm up session and then organised the lesson so that the children were able to run a staggering 96 km between them. The pupil’s impressive total was added to the overall goal for children across the South West to run 2022 km.
The ‘small academy with a big heart’ raised an astounding £760 all of which will go towards providing vital care at the local children hospices, with very £20 raised funding one hour of care. The academy is incredibly grateful to the family and friends who sponsored the children and together have provided 38 hours of specialist and dedicated care.
This is the second year the children have taken part in the event, and they are look forward to taking part again next year.
Laura Secker, Headteacher at All Saints Marsh, said:
‘I am so incredibly proud of all of our children who demonstrated our school values of perseverance in their running, and compassion and love in the absolutely fantastic amount of money they raised.”
A representative for the Children’s Hospice South West, said:
“All Saints Marsh, you are awesome. Thank you all for doing such an amazing thing to help our hospices.”
