Circus Skills at All Saints Marsh!

A lot of fun and excitement could be heard coming from All Saints Marsh who are part of the Learning Academy Partnership on Wednesday. Tilly from Circus Sensible visited the school and bought along lots of Circus equipment to teach the children new skills ! Lots of giggling and cheering spread wide and far as the children got to grips with the challenge of being in the circus. The children and grown ups had the chance to learn to juggle, spin plates and explore the broad tricks and skills from the circus tent. The children showed fantastic resilience to practise the new skills and by the end many could easily spin plates from one person to the next. The progress made within one session was fantastic with every child laughing and smiling whilst showing our school Christian values of courage, creativity and perseverance. Some of the positive feedback comments included:

Vanesa- “This is the best thing to do! I couldn’t do it, but then I could!”

Harry- “It was funny because our teachers found it really hard to do as well and we were all learning together and got there in the end!”

Arthur- “I am so happy because I wanted to give up, but I was helped and I could do it and I did it really well!”

Kaylyn- “I enjoyed twirling the purple ribbon. It looked pretty and was very long! I had to persevere with the juggling because it was really tricky.”

George – “I liked watching my friends enjoying the different skills! I loved playing on the dinosaur stilts and trying to race each other.”

“Juggling is not an easy skill to master! It took me the whole summer, but it was so lovely to see the children persevering and having fun!” Tilly from Circus Sensible.

What a fantastic, fun experience for all of our children! They couldn’t wait to have a go at the circus skills and showed great perseverance to master them! It is important that our children have a broad and balanced curriculum that involves physical and creative opportunities alongside academic success. We want our children to learn in a happy, nurturing environment where the children have the confidence to fulfill their hopes and aspirations and perhaps we have helped to inspire some future entertainers of the future!

The Learning Academy Partnership provides a first-class education to its pupils across the South West, and has done so since it was founded almost 10 years ago. The Trust is rated the best Multi Academy Trust in the country for the performance of disadvantaged children and in the Top 10 Trusts nationally for the progress that children make.
